European Grants, FP 7, IDEAS programme

Call for proposals ERC Advanced Investigator Grant (deadline 6-4-2011)

Grants: up to 2,5 M (100% of total eligible direct costs + 20% for indirect costs)

Researchers’ profile
* Active researchers (no age limit)
* Track-record of significant research achievement (last 10 years)
* Exceptional leaders in terms of the originality and significance of their research contribution
* One or more of the following benchmarks (depending on the research field): 10 publications as senior author, 3 major research monographs - 5 granted patents - 10 invited presentations - international recognition through scientific prizes/awards or membership in scientific academies
Evaluation criteria: excellence as sole criterion, to apply to: intellectual capacity and creativity,commitment, quality of the research project, ground-breaking nature of the research, potential impact, methodology and high risk/high gain balance
Total Budget: 6,6 M
Success Rate 2009:NL overall:22,5%, NL domain Social Sciences and Humanities: 17,8%

An information meeting will take place in February 2011.

Reminder: Call for proposals MOSAIC NWO

NWO awards scholarships (200.000 euro) to graduates from or final-year students at a Dutch university who are from ethnic minorities and have received their entire university education in the Netherlands or have been resident in the Netherlands for at least 5 years.

  • The closing date for submitting brief research ideas is 11 January 2011 23:59 hrs

Awards and Prizes

Two researchers of the ESL recently received prestigious awards:

  • Mr. dr. Xandra Kramer has been awarded a NWO VIDI grant.


  • Mr. dr. drs. Jeroen Temperman has been awarded an EUR-FELLOWSHIP.

The Hall of Fame lists the top researchers who have received prestigious awards, grants, and prizes for their scientific achievements during their time at the Erasmus School of Law.
